Independent analysis?

AccountingWEB is carrying an ‘independent analysis’ of Access Dimensions by Baker Tilly. Underneath is a humungous advert telling you how great Armstrong Consultants are. They say they support 1,000 sites.

On another page, there’s reference to the Invitation To Tender being old hat published by BASDA – another Access sponsored page that requires registration. You can get it without doing all that by clicking here

I’m prepared to be corrected but I’m pretty sure Baker Tilly implements Access

Armstrong’s pitch? ‘Access Accounts Reseller of the Year’

You have to register to get the analysis and BASDA’s thing

Independent? Useful? Customer comment?

Here’s an alternative method:

  • Call the usual suspects (Sage, Access, Microsoft) and ask for 3 customer references that are as close a match to what you do as possible
  • Meet with said references and discuss the implementation, value delivered
  • Make choice
  • Batter supplier on price/delivery, get fixed price, fixed delivery

no advertising required/you’re in control not the supplier

Hmm...Chinese Walls...John I trust, most of the time.

The Armstrong Consulting report is written by John Oates, the Baker Tilley partner for IT Advisory Services

Baker Tilly are interesting - any idea what the engine is for their online accounting offering?
