Praise the competition – it's un-natural but adds to ROI

One of the more bizarre aspects of this medium is the notion of praising the competition – and not just praising them but lauding their achievements. Why would you do that? ROI? Here’s a few thoughts:

  • Send them away so they come back
  • Draw on multiple audiences
  • Learning from others
  • Sharper analysis
  • Less navel gazing more recognition there’s a world out there
  • Improve the value of the total market for what you do and benefit accordingly

I’m sure there’s a lot more.
