One of the more bizarre aspects of this medium is the notion of praising the competition – and not just praising them but lauding their achievements. Why would you do that? ROI? Here’s a few thoughts:
- Send them away so they come back
- Draw on multiple audiences
- Learning from others
- Sharper analysis
- Less navel gazing more recognition there’s a world out there
- Improve the value of the total market for what you do and benefit accordingly
