YouTube advertising

in General

The other week, I was speculating about home video as advertising on YouTube. This vid is effectively a free promotion for the Logitec Orbit Cam. I have no way of knowing whether Philip Torrone is remunerated by the company and I don’t care anyway. I want one and I want it right now. Even if that means I’ve got to turn on my PC. No Mac version – bad.

Cool demo, much better than the demos manufacturers provide with just a small sampling of feature previews. Couldnt find anything on the website, any word on making your own ‘glasses’ or avatars?

It’s had close to 200,000 downloads capturing attention for several minutes.

Think about telling a story to do with the taxman and the accountant using some of the video characters – like the shark :) Upload to YouTube. Make a few discreet phone calls. Blog it. Cost? Value delivered?

Now think about the AccountancyAge article that discussed whether professional accountants are sexy or not? Give me a break perlease. How does a sincere if crumpled blue suit, a shirt and tie look sexy at 3pm? Thomas? They can’t afford it. And we still have to live off the image created by the Two Ronnies. Double f***ed.

Watch this space.

In the same way that websites can make tiny companies look big and polished, a webcam that renders an impressive wood panelled office behind you when, in fact, you're sitting on a sun lounger in your boxers surely must be the future must have marketing device. Would certainly enable you to command higher fees.

Or the reverse, if you genuinley have a wood panelled office and wish to project a shabbier feel to your company, either way it's your call.

I want one as well!

The thought of giving a presentation on VAT and start-ups as a white rabbit .......
