My homage to Telefonica's service

by admin on August 3, 2006

I finally got ADSL working – easy solution – buy a self configuring DSL router. So…here is my homage to Telefonica’s service recorded on my clapped out Nokia 6600 – so no comments about recording quality please. I now feel relieved. Just as one would if one had endured an enema.

My good friend David Tebbutt suggested putting the old router under the back wheel of a Telefonica van and waiting for the engineer to drive off. Unfortunately that would have incurred another €50 call out charge. Plus a significant wait. This is a lot more satisfying.

Dennis, I really wonder why you bothered calling them in the first place. A quick search on Google found this: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,15133547?hilite=spain+adsl+settings

You need to get more technical – accounting isn’t everything ;)

    Funny movie nonetheless :)

Seems to me that’s what’s needed by 50% of routers.

I abandoned my first one (Belkin – massively rated by magazines – never did manage to carry Skype successfully amongst many failings).

Netgear worked like a dream though….

Anyone want the old router to do a Howlett? I’ve still got it, waiting for a hammer job

    Seemed astonishingly robust considering.

Hope you didn’t crack your floor tiles.
