I’ve just had my weekly briefing with Winweb (which company contributes to the cost of keeping this life raft afloat). Here’s the headline news:
- Deal inked with NCR: NCR retail EPOS systems will have Winweb embedded into them so that any retailer signing up with NCR will be able to use Winweb as the accounting function. NCR EPOS is distributed through a network of resellers including EPoS Logic, one of Winweb’s partners. I’ll leave it to readers to figure the potential for scaling numbers.
- Deal inked with AccountsVision: Accounts production will be fully integrated with Winweb. The first iteration, which is slated for release before the start of the tax season (November, 2006), will be offline but AccountsVision and Winweb plan to develop an integrated SaaS version in due course. Bronze partners pay £150 pa, Silver and Gold get it as part of their terms. This means that for the first time, UK professionals do not need to think about investing large sums of money in accounts production software while being able to offer clients a fully integrated service.
AccountsVision has recently been upgraded and is well up there with others in the same class. Congratulations to Stefan and Steve Checkley (CEO AccountsVision) for inking the deal so quickly. Goes to show what can be done when you really want to make things happen.
Other news
- Winweb API will be in full beta Friday,4th August at 5pm – a number of projects are in the pipeline, details to follow
- The free Bronze practice membership is now closed. Annual Bronze partner membership is £195 pa. Silver – £940 pa and Gold is by invitation only. Silver and Gold partners can white label Winweb should they so wish. Only practitioners that register with Winweb will be allowed to offer their clients free access to Winweb Office.

Just to confuse the market, IRIS recently launched IRIS AccountsOffice. Couldn’t they think of an original name?
