Pegasus staff organise support via blog

Pegasus Software staff affected by the recent decision to axe 42 staff are organising themselves via a blog Pegasus Divided. Kevin Newton says:

OK, so the purpose of this blog is for us, that is people divided by Pegasus, to get together and share stuff. My thoughts are that this will be a good place to share stuff like contact details, Agencies, jobs and so on. You know the sort of thing I’m sure.

As you might imagine, some sound bitter, having worked with the company for a long time. Hutch for instance says:

The Unchosen are hardly likely to go out on strike in support of the Chosen but I had a thought, lots of us have known one another for a long time …… Pegasus felt like a family, and families support one another.

The Chosen will have expenses to pay for travelling to interviews etc. Can The Unchosen support The Chosen ? Can we commit to putting say £100 aside so that, in a small way admittedly, those that remain can support those that go …..

Unsurprisingly, there’s a lot of sadness.

What’s interesting is that this group is self-organsing and supporting, throwing in links to sites that cover their legal position, job seeking and so on. I wonder what people like Scoble think of this kind of thing? Reminiscent of why blogs became popular in the first place?

They’re talking about making the blog private. If you feel moved to leave a message of support, get there while it is still open. I’ve said: DON’T DO IT. As it stands, the site is a useful resource for those affected by redundancy.

UPDATE: Due to the actions of a few Assholes – the blog organiser was forced to restrict the site and move the discussion to a private Google Group. I’ve always held the view that if you are really pissed at someone or something, express that at your own place.

UPDATE 2: I was misled. The site is still there. I suggested to one private correspondent that perhaps there are lessons here in companies establishing blog site frameworks and then passing them over to interested parties. Whether public or private is a matter of choice but moderation is critical when feelings are running high.

closed = closed for outsider comments. Apologies for not making it clear.

Our requirements are listed on http://www.ebdex.co.uk/jobs.html plus we need head of Sales and Head of Development (web page need updating). Entrepreneurs rather than employees, please!

I assume some of the sales and operations people also got hit (not sure on the distribution = DH have you got any further details).

We do not need FoxPro expertise even though we still have to start work on the interface between Pegasus products and ebdex Document Exchange (sorry for hijacking your space DH)

I am looking for Field Support people to support Resellers/Vertical Developers. Contact me by email - tony.parsonage@interprise.co.uk

It's not been moved or closed (yet) - it's still there. It's just been limited to members only posting and commenting. It is currently open for anyone to read, but for how long ...

They have closed it and have deleted any comments you and others have made, who are not registered.
