Mark Crofton, one of my Irregular chums (and a real stand up guy) passed me this link from Oracle. Does any of this PR bollox make sense to you:
“Information Workers need an easy-to-use, task-oriented, rich client user interface through which they can access information and enterprise applications, quickly execute transactions within Enterprise Applications; and share information and collaborate with other people over a variety of channels – messaging, Voice-over-IP, discussions – using familiar desktop and mobile tools,”
More important still, could you speak the entire sentence without drawing breath?
Sometimes I’m reminded of sentences from my favourite film Heat with Pacino and De Niro. In this case I’m reminded of the scene where Ashley Judd‘s character is being pressured by Drucker. The detective ( says:
‘An’ you know where this goes. Fucked for life.’
Is this the guaranteed way to kill off any understanding about how traditional styles of application fit into the modern collaborative landscape? We all need to learn, some more so than others.
