I'm 79 on a list

in Humour

I’ve pretty much stopped taking notice of Technorati. The rankings are meaningless except to say I’m at X position in an undifferentiated glob of blogs. Which is sort of OK if you’re in the sub-10K area. The figures change (up and down in some weird way) almost daily and I’ve more or less given up asking them to re-index my site. But someone else thinks Technorati has value.

Apparently I’m listed as no. 79 of all UK blogs – that provided some context. No surprise that Hugh is number one. But I was a little concerned at being rated 2 spots lower than Arse Blog, and a handful above Vitriolica…whose sited closed in June. And full marks to Zoe Margolis for getting into position 13. (you have to click through to get context :)

It’s fascinating to see the Adam Smith Institute up there at 34 with the political right wing incendiary Guido Fawkes at 19, while everyone’s right wing political buffoon, Boris Johnson comes in a very credible 17. But then Boris is a great writer.

BTW – no other finance related folk around in this group as far as I could tell. That’ll change over time I’m sure. And WTF happened to James? Has he been relegated to that dead zone called ‘Mid-Atlantic?’ – I hope not.

Stop: I’ve contradicted myself. I used the list to find new things. So Technorati was useful after all.

I must admit i did wonder - but figured it was a bit vulgar to ask... :-)

Not those kinds of arses. Don't worry.
