Google-Jotspot: now we're talking

Zoli has one of the best thought out analyses of the Google-JotSpot deal I’ve seen to date. I have nothing of any significant value to add at this time. If you are or represent an SMB, it’s absolutely worth the read.

As an aside, I was at the dinner to which Zoli refers and I heard the same rumour about the same time as Dan Farber. I’ve never seen a suited guy’s feet move so quickly. That was fun.

Cote also has an interesting take on JotSpot-Google, upping the discussion to include Google as a potential enterprise player. This is something I know Google is serious about – because they’ve told me so in a manner that sounded real. At the time, I was sceptical. Now I can see how the pieces are fitting into place. All makes sense.

When seen in the context of discussions around Microsoft’s continuing business supremacy, this gets really fascinating, opening up all sorts of possibilities for the future of applications. That battle is only at the skirmish stage. Expect all out war very soon.
