I suppose it had to happen. Flipping from place to place on the Internet and I come up with Jack Youest, the antidote to anything you’ve read here about business relationships. Despite the potential for being labelled as engaging in stereotypical behaviour, I’d add that my experience of workplace conduct in America is not a million miles away from what Jack is proposing.
A gem for all you power hungry folk to admire:
The private businesses who never had employees who were privates in the Army, think and behave as if everyone is equal.
Wrong.
There is far too much of this egalitarian nonsense in our culture. Much of it comes from the academy, where most nonsense originates.
It won’t surprise you to know that Jack is slightly right of Atilla the Hun. Flogging next no doubt. Personally, I think the guy is either a cynic of the first order or an Asshole.
But then I find the American work culture awkward to fathom. There are so many jobsworth types where getting anything done is always someone else’s responsibility and where responsibility isn’t always valued. Is it any surprise then that Jack takes this position?
Hat tip to Zoli.
