in Tax and Ethics

I think the profession does a lousy job (by and large) in encouraging talent. The Big Four of course are in there hoovering up the best people and then featherbedding them towards qualification. These folk are happy to be cannon fodder for an industry that is sliding into crisis (IMO).

CEO of Teqlo Jeff Nolan said:

Before I wax on about how cool all this is let me be the first to acknowledge that there is much to be done. For example, later this week we’ll roll into the service an editor for enabling communication between the teqlets (this is what we call the components that represent web services). This is a major piece of functionality that fulfills much of the promise that this company is founded on so you may ask why we came out with what we did when this was not included. The reason is that I made a decision to roll with what we had as of Sunday night because the team earned the right to see it go into action, even if that meant it would be a week before the communication piece was included. What I saw over the last couple of weeks is a group of engineers come together to be more than just a group of talented individuals but rather a team and to push the date even just a week would have been a big letdown.

That looks like an object lesson in people relations. Now I know why he’s such an effective leader and innovator. David v Goliath – who might win?
