Making communities Zimbio style

Manoj Ranaweera is beavering away to get investor and start-up clubs going around the north of England. He’s also looking for funding for his ebdex service. The buzz around technology in the UK is helping but then so is the technology.

Manoj points to a Zimbio created aggregation portal built for that purpose. What I really like is that he is inviting competitors into the space.

Zimbio portals are dead easy to build. I reckon it takes about 10-15 minutes to pick it up. Most parts of the service perform well though Blog Search Trackers can produce odd results. Portals need a little tending but the information they deliver is very useful.

Which reminds me, I did one for Sage Line 50, 2007 service. I’ve not got it completed but you get the idea I’m sure. If you want, you can sign up for the service and add stuff to the site. It is there to serve the community, not my vapid interests.

It seems that quite independently, we have 2 clear examples of very different reasons for establishing a Zimbio portal. If you’re politically minded, there is a huge selection on offer. Not-for-profit organisations get a great airing. This is innovation in action. Want one built around your firm’s needs?
