ABN Amro goes virtual

This caught my eye:

ABN AMRO will be organising seminars on Second Life for specific target groups, such as business starters or new graduates (Young Professionals) and Preferred Banking clients. ABN AMRO will also use the virtual world of Second Life to recruit new staff.

So why aren’t professionals looking at this medium? ABN summarises thoughts I’ve expressed here on and off for a long time around the need to capture the imagination of Generation M, Z or whatever the current moniker is supposed to be.

I’m a bit sceptical about Second Life but I take my hat off to ABN for attempting something innovative. At least it’s not as ‘off’ as E&Y’s attempt at capturing the imagination.

Hat tip Neville Hobson for the round up. We live in interesting times.

Second life is all the rage at the moment. I wrote the other day about a SAP developer competition. The winning entry was a shop front in second life with real time SAP integration...more here.
