An oxymoronic statement from Intuit

From Accountancy Age on the appoint of Richard Bee to the top spot at Intuit UK:

Unlike our competitors Intuit has grasped the need for software that makes excellent financial management easy to achieve and an enabler for growth and innovation,’ said Bee.

Hey Richard, I wonder if you’ve carried a tad too much of Sage Towers thinking with you. That statement sounds like an oxymoron to me given the amount Sage spends on R&D is around 11% of revenue. Your own people in the US seem to have forgotten that there is an online opportunity in the UK. And since when did getting debits on the left and credits on the right constitute ‘an enabler for growth and innovation?’ Much more of this sort of talk and you’ll have Nick Carr in stitches.
