This is for all those who think the entire topic of web services, SOA, SaaS and all my other favourite tech topics is hype and nonsense. It seems my old friends at TIBCO feel the same way. Shock, horror I hear from some people, muted sniggers I hear from others.
I know Dan Ziman who is engaged in customer facing operations. If this is an example of Dan’s creativity, (which I didn’t know existed) then PodTech had better start thinking a bit beyond getting media hungry execs in front of the camera. This has a look of Wallace and Grommitt about it. Hey will we have a VideoCast Oscars for Best Business Animation in 2008?
But in the meantime, Dan has great playful swipes at Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAP and (perhaps) Intel. See if you can spot the ‘in-industry’ gags.
Dan’s also in charge of SOANowJournal, a TIBCO sponsored site. OK, I hear the groans but actually there’s some good stuff about how to achieve SOA benefit. Heck, they even point to stuff that DOESN’T reference TIBCO. That’s nice. Dan – shows us yer feeds. You know where this goes…
Disclosure: TIBCO was a client until about a year ago. I still think they’re a great company. I wish they’d stop making their stuff so hard to find.
