I'd be really interested to know if any firms use Macs in their practice.

I sent Tom a pic of my PC...

To Niel's point - the answer is a flat no. Virtually everything to date has been built on Wintel. But...I see a future where the things you describe are part of a much larger information ecosystem that will have to be delivered as web services. That means you should be able to use any piece of kit you want.

Fact is that despite having significant advantages over Wintel - especially on networking, Apple shows no desire to be an enterprise player.

You could always take the alternative view that Mac is the best platform for running Windows. Or you could get a Mac, wait for Leopard and then be totally blown away.

I'd be really interested to know if any firms use Macs in their practice. I very much doubt it but I'd love to work in such a firm if it existed. Or even Linux, although that's probably less likely than Mac. Can you use Macs because you're out of public practice? Does the software for managing engagements even exist for the Mac?
