Down and dirty

While James is schmoozing his way around SAPpers, I prefer to get down and dirty with users. I’ve been taking a peek at SAPlink - developed by and for developers. Who cares? You should.

When a software developer is so confident in the value of its offering that it opens up the code, guess what happens? Developers get their hands mucky and play with the code. It’s in their DNA. They create new and interesting things. That add value. Or make life easier.

So today I give kudos to SAP for opening the vault. Which is more than I can say for others.

My one regret from TechEd Amstrerdam is that I didn't spend more time in the showcase area. I'm catching up -:)

Hope James and Craig hook up. That would make for a fun read.

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks Dennis. As you know we spend a lot of our time at RedMonk tracking developers as practioners, in enterprises, vendors and startups. I am glad you have finally recognised the value of the SAP developer community and how it enables innovation. I have been on that train for quite some time, and yes i am off to palo alto this morning. But Jeremiah and Tesha are friends, not schmooze targets. Ed is way cool. glad you grok it. down and dirty - yes you are.

Check out ClickCaster.com - a great way to establish a library of podcasts. In sort of beta (isn't everything) but it has some great shows on it. They will whitelabel so for content providers it can be a stonkingly good deal.

We are now able to embed (sounds like we are behind right, OK we are...) media like video directly into the blogs so I think things will start to get a bit better and we are working hard on a whole new solution for video/audio (no timeline yet) so...

I have now - a good listen.

For the sake of the 'attention of gold fish' brigade (that's like me), the link to the download is in the top right hand side of the site. It says "Download media." I missed it first time around. duh?

Have you seen the podcast from the two after winning the Demo Jam at the SAP TechEd '06 in Las Vegas?
