I understand John’s support of the idea, using Wired’s slogan “We waste our time so you don’t have to”. The service costs £6 a month, discounted to £5 for AWEB readers. Dennis however, thinks it’s a rip off! I can see how it might have some value, saving research time, but I can’t assess how much (or whether it’s a rip off) because I can’t browse the site like I can a magazine standing in the newsagents before I buy. I think Kevin is missing a massive trick by not providing a free trial. If you go through the comments you'll see I linked to AccMan as an example of where accountants could get free technology ideas - exactly your point. I suppose this service might help save a bit of research time, but we'd only know how worthwhile if they allowed a "try before you buy" approach.
