|If you want to know what happens to old accountants who turn up at modern web conferences then look no further than this pic, taken by Joi Ito on the morning of the first day at LeWeb3. This was part of Ewan Spence’s ‘opening the schwag bag’ session which happens prior to each conference he attends. I just happened to be there at the time. Ewan’s energy levels are frighteningly high. His kilt is a head turner.

Last night I watched ‘The Final Conversation‘ with Michael Parkinson. Among the guests was Billy Connolly who, at age 65 talked about the fear of trying to extricate himself from bean bags. I know what he means. I met with Chris Alden, CEO of SixApart last week but the only place we could sit was on bean bags. Over a period of some 10 minutes I found myself slowly being enveloped by this monstrous object. Clearly I had not figured the set up instructions.

Note to conference organizers: It’s OK to put out chairs.
