My del.icio.us bookmarks for January 6th

  • Blogs and self promotion – Brilliant post from Seth Godin via Stephanie Booth’s link blog that ties into the notion of the social object that Hugh MacLeod describes.
  • Street art as a social object – I have very mixed feelings about this concept. It seems to work fine at the consumer level but I doubt it holds true once you get beyond commodities or impulse buys.
  • Ambient Intimacy – This is about the way Twitter impacts our individual relationships. I anticipate Twitter, its clones and add ons will become a topic of great interest in the coming months.
  • Schwarzenegger Terminating Identity Theft – The headline is way too obvious but the sentiment is important. ID theft is an ever pervasive problem and one that’s not going away any time soon. We should at least recognize the key risk areas.

  • Never mind what are Twitter costs, whats the cost of Twitter? – I question Pat’s math but he puts forward an interesting proposition. The comments are show how this topic generates a lot of controversy. More on this later
  • TED Talks: Yossi Vardi – A classic in entertaining with a subtle point about global (or is it local?) warming
  • Apple’s Worst Day in 32 Months – This is part of the market correction that many have been anticipating. Tech company sales are based on hope and hype. At the moment, there isn’t much sentiment in either.
