		<description>Many of the comments above ring true.  There are so many obstacles to genuine teamwork and collaboration that what we talk ourselves into believing are &quot;benefits&quot; are actually &quot;detriments.

Too many organisations have demonstrated to their staff that they don&#039;t trust them.  Examples I have seen range from not supplying media (CD&#039;s or DVD&#039;s) &quot;because people pinch them&quot; through to not being allowed to see the contract fro a customer you&#039;re working with because &quot;it&#039;s commercial-in-confidence&quot;.

People DO get paramoid - If I write down or otherwise pass on what I know, then that knowledge becomes part of the corporatuions &#039;commodity knowledge&#039;, and my diffeentiation is lessened.</description>
