An insight into how things work in Quebec: the province requires that you be paid the minimum wage.

Divide your salary by the # of hours you work. If you fall below the minimum wage, they owe you money.

Since the effective wage for salaried CA firm staff is over $20 an hour and the minimum wage is less than $10, it is - thank goodness - rare to the point of being essentially impossible for this scenario to happen. Which is cold comfort for salaried staff who aren&#039;t getting O/T, but that&#039;s how Quebec operates. Kind of odd for a French language jurisdiction, don&#039;t you think?.</description>
