Software plus tax advice. Whatever next?
June 19, 2008
Although I no longer have day to day involvement with FreeAgent, it’s good to see the lads taking the service forward. The latest innovation is the inclusion of tax tips into the blog. Of itself you might think this is no big deal but that’s a huge mistake. Here’s why:
- Chris Thomas of OneAccounting is sharing some of the 80% he knows. Users would have to search for this stuff around the interwebs but he is saving readers time and effort.
- Including a third party demonstrates a commitment to community on both sides.
- By offering this additional information, FreeAgent starts to become a magnet for useful stuff that’s directly related to the service offering. That increases traffic but also increases the likelihood that FreeAgent is seen as a trusted resource.
- In developing community, FreeAgent is sparking further discussion about its service and discovering fresh requirements. (Check what Tekin is asking in comments.)
All goodness. And I guarantee it won’t end there.
