Sage Intelligent Reporting laid to rest - 26 Sep 2008
“We’ve become aware of some compatibility issues between Sage 50 Intelligent Reporting and other software,” Ford wrote. “As it’s just not practical for us to solve these issues or develop the software further in its current form, we’ve taken the difficult decision to withdraw Sage 50 Intelligent Reporting from sale from 24 September 2008 and to halt development of the new version of this software.”

Scottish economy ‘grinding to a halt’
September 25, 2008 by Dennis Howlett · 1 Comment
A bleak report (PDF download) from Prof. Donald JR MacRae of Lloyds TSB Scotland paints a depressing picture of the Scottish economy. I was surprised by the graphic above which suggests only 65% of Scottish service industry businesses have web sites. In this day and age? How do they expect to do business? Even more depressing were the graphics indicating levels of order input and cash collection achieved via the web:
As professionals, you can actively assist businesses by showing them the beneifts of services like on-demand saas accounting, operating PayPal as a receiving mechanism (but with all the caveats about moving money around), direct payment systems, electronic billing and so on. Many of these servicves are either free or low cost.
