I really don't want to become a bore on such matters but "home run" doesn't mean much to me: A Good Thing to get in baseball, like hitting a six, a ten wicket haul, carrying ones bat, etc in cricket, right? My point: if I don't get your frame of reference or become distracted from your point through having to look up a turn of phrase in an urban dictionary (strange, because we both live in rural areas) then I'm left wondering if your blog is really for me. Would it be fair to say that you write primarily for US bloggers? I'm not having a go, honestly, just trying to understand your motivations.

Jamie - I have a global readership with about 35% in the US. Some expressions are well understood around the world, others not so much. I would have thought there's enough baseball on UK TV for people to have at least a passing understanding of the term. In any event, anyone can get the gist from the RSS feed. Right?
