Alistair Darling, British politician and Chanc...

Chancellor Alistair Darling’s historic pre-Budget Report was bound to generate a lot of interest. I got a call from AccountingWeb’s Rob Lewis asking if I would drop an opinion piece. So did others. I let Rob know I would be live blogging the event. He in turn posted a live list of the major changes. Richard Murphy joined in the fun. The TUC Touchstone blog picked up the beat, noting still others who were commenting.

I was able to draw upon comments that came in while I was live blogging the goings on and re-use those over at AW. What ever your thoughts on the efficacy of Chancellor Darling’s measures – we won’t know the full detail for a few days – it is good to see how technology is changing our ability to report upon important events as they happen, field questions, take informed comment and add value for readers. All in real time.
