Firslty, your phone in specific is f**ked. The N96 is general is actually a brilliant phone, my phone isnt nearly as slow or as shite as that!

My N96, apps load immediately, camera loads immediately, and so does everything else!

As for you saying Gmail takes ages to load, it did load but by default the screen turns off after 15 or 20 seconds which clearly you didnt know that had happened rather than thinking Gmail ‘is loading because the screen is black’. Simply change your Power Saver settings so that the screen stays on longer so you dont think ‘the phones died on you’.

Ok granted the N96 has a few little niggles, so does every other N-Series coz its Symbian, just be patient and wait for the updates, but why waste 10 mins to create a video about bitchin over a phone?? If you dont like it, buy another one. (Sorry if i sound moody, its 2am atm, i dont mean to sound like an arse but i believe i got a gd point seeing as my n96 works perfectly)

Im using that phone.
Its not slow, its regular S60 phone. Little faster than older phones…
Im tryed 2 do same things as on you video and its not same. U haved some crap or made in china nokia.

Debrand the handset (change the product code and update firmware), this will resolve the UK Service Provider issue by skipping them and upgrading to the latest fimware (12.043). Always back up first and format before and after upgrade.

I agree that is not at all what I came to expect as a Nokia user… although I’ve not actually owned one in ~3 or 4 years now. It does mirror my experiences with Blackberry though – taking the battery out, putting it back in and rebooting, just causes the Pearl to take an AGE to start and “verify security software” or whatever it’s supposed to be doing. I wonder if this is a modern malaise of mobile phones – slow(ish) processors and bloated OSes (and yes I do include the iPhone in that)

BTW you have a URL dahowlett.tv at the start of the video – doesn’t actually seem to work though?
