Don't trust these bastards. They take your money and then they give you trial programmes - when you try and contact them there is a deathly silence or a hyperlink is sent which tries to sell you the product you just paid for.

Cool. Love to get your thoughts when you get the time. I think this is an area where our young industry can work together and take a leadership position.

@rod - that's a whole different conversation I'd prefer to take offline and something I've been noodling on for many years. FYI - I co-edited XBRL for Dummies and was one of the 1st to point out the inherent problems with IR39 which eventually led to discussions that saw 'fair value accounting' introduced.

We completely agree with that.

But I don't think that number had anything to do with intra-customer benchmarking, it read to me like some sort of indicator of traction - which I thought was funny.

I must get the team to write that query and see what our total number is.

Anyway,

On benchmarking love to get your your thoughts on where SBR (Standard Business Reporting) is in the UK. NZ and Australia are looking hard at SBR now. SBR has the potential to create some useful taxonomies that may assist with benchmarking.

We have noticed that online offerings solve some of the problems that SBR addresses. In fact SBR may to be rethought in an online world.

Cheers

@rod: When it became the basis upon which to build an alternative business model, especially for multi-tenant players. If you're an on-demand player and are not thinking about this then you're missing a huge opportunity. Benchmarking alone is a massive opportunity. It's something Freshbooks has been working on for a while and is welcomed by their users.

Fall off my chair laughing.

Since when did the aggregate dollar value of transactions through the platform become a meaningful number.

Why don't we all compare the temperature of our CPU's.

I think we have 75 million rows in our database. Is that good? Is it more that Dwayne?

Funny.

I love how posts like this simulteanously render my business information systems university project (longer story short: "make or buy?") from about a half decade ago obsolete 3 or 4 times over yet at the same time could still be massaged into something useful, as long as you update the general ideas with the new techs.
