Pearsons goes social

If there’s one thing I admire it’s a professional who is prepared to take a risk.

A while back I asked the question: What’s right and wrong about newsletters? To his credit, Adrian Pearson popped his head above the parapet and pointed to his latest offering.

Others commented and today Adrian returned for more, announcing that his firm will soon be launching a Ning based social network. This is the sort of thing I really like to see. A firm that sticks its neck out and gives clients something he hopes they’ll find useful while providing a place for those same clients to meet and share stories. It doesn’t go un-noticed that he is a Xero customer. Forward thinking. As my friend Hugh might say: Rock on.

  • Dennis, an update: I think we have now proven the concept of "Pearsons Live" to our own team and some of our more forward thinking clients. The challenge now is to get more clients involved, get our team motivated to contribute content (currently there are only a couple of us playing the game] and also get our people to write original blog postings, not simply copy in stuff they have found elsewhere. I think it's going to be longer road than I anticipated. Not everyone "gets it" quickly.
  • aaaah - ever it was so but you've just gotta keep plugging away. Seen my Evil Plans post? That might help.
