Weekend musing: sponsor success

in General

As we come towards the end of June it’s good to see some of this site’s sponsors doing really well or introducing new ideas to the market. I make no apology for pimping what they’re doing because they are pointing the way to where we’re all going to be:

FreeAgent Central nominated for a gong at the TechCrunch Europa awards for Best Enterprise/B2B Startup. There’s some tough competition but it’s hard not to feel proud of an accounting saas solution making it to this slot. If you’re a fan then vote for them as it is user votes that count.

Web Expenses shows how you can use your mobile phone as a way of providing evidence of expenses incurred:

our new receipts functionality allows users to attach receipts electronically in almost any file format, including jpeg and other image formats (such as a digital photo taken with a mobile phone), PDF (the format that usually results when receipts are run through a scanner), HTML (such as a web page or email confirmation) and even Word or Excel.

How good is that? How much would it save users mailing in? Would it encourage you to make sure your expense claims were made in a timely manner?

Hamish Edwards, CEO at Xero UK will soon be returning to New Zealand. His replacement has yet to be named but I’m told it will be an accounting vendor rock star. Excitement indeed. There’s more. Recently Xero held its first partner day in Auckland. 100 people attended. I’m looking forward to the day when Xero can replicate that in the UK.

Want free email marketing? Want a free accounting service? Pearl shows how you can use Mail Chimp with Pearl Express. More goodness.

And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention CODA2go’s recent tie up with US based Corefino. CODA has much more to come. If you’re a medium sized business and want a world class finance application along with CRM then CODA2go along with Salesforce.com should be on your watch list.

If you want to keep up to date with what these folk are doing then grab the widget that’s on the top right hand side of this site. No coding required.
