		<description>I agree wholeheartedly with the importance of getting out of the bubble.  Since I focus on HRM, and every business does it, I not only go to various in-person conclaves but do lots of just plain walking around, talking to all and sundry.  It&#039;s amazing what you can learn about the practice of HRM at their firms by talking with the employees you meet everywhere -- and I do, must to the occasional embarrassment of my husband.  And the international piece is crucial.  Thanks for a very useful post.</description>
