Last year, I edited the first draft of The Power to Predict. It’s now available from Amazon. This isn’t about crystal ball gazing but about an organisation’s ability to understand its customers and business events in real-time using scientific techniques. Accredited author Vivek Ranadive is one of the software industry’s true visionaries and having the privilege of contributing to the book’s production was a genuine high spot in my writing career.
Most of the examples contained in the book will be from companies and organisations with which readers will be familiar. Others less so. Nevertheless, if you want an object lesson in how world class businesses maintain their leadership using concepts like predictive analytics, real-time business process management and in-house developed systems, then it should make an interesting read. It’s pretty much jargon free and we tried to keep the technology components in the background. Why would this be of interest to this readership? We can all learn from the big boys (IMHO.)
Disclosure: I occasionally develop content for TIBCO and the company provided some initial sponsor funds for IntegrationMonitor my other main web presence. I do not benefit from book sale proceeds.
